On the Road Again

We were all up and awake early this morning.  The bikers passing early on the road certainly didn't help.  The Hampton Inn in Deadwood is literally right on the street as is most other things and not well sound insulated.  We headed north toward Bowman, ND and it was almost mind boggling to see the differences in the terrain.  Around each curve (which was miles and miles) it would change from flat to hills and cattle to corn....again.  When we got into North Dakota and then Montana it was cattle and "amber waves of grain" for as far as the eye can see.  You could sing America the Beautiful and know that most of the words were written about this part of the country.  It truly is a sight to behold.
It was a long day driving but we had good weather and  lots of laughs along the way although right now I can't remember what they were about.  We arrived safely and I am grateful for that.  We arrived here around 5:30 PM in Billings, MT.   We did laundry tonight, went to dinner at the Texas Road House in the same parking lot so we could walk over there and now we are getting reading to pass out for the night.  Tomorrow we start our trip into Yellowstone via the Beartooth Highway.

Talk about the road to nowhere..hours of this on the way to Bowman, North Dakota

This was just too cute..looked like a momma and baby caterpillar

This RV has been a lot of places!

More corn....

  1. Glad you are enjoying the scenery in ND and Montana. I'm sure it is great. We finally arrived in Co after taking off two hours late because of thunderstorms. House is nice but really in the sticks.
    Have fun!!
